Joseph Waller, MD, MPH, is board-certified in radiation oncology. He attended medical school at The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City. Dr. Waller completed his residency from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, where he was the chief resident for two years. Before joining SSM Health Medical Group – Cancer Care, Dr. Waller was the medical director in therapeutic radiation oncology at Piedmont Henry Radiation Oncology Center in Griffin, Georgia. His special interests include stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and intravascular radiotherapy. He provides care to patients ages 18 and older. Since 2014, Dr. Waller has been providing both state-of-the-art care and excellent bedside manner. He has an extensive medical history and is able to care for the patient from their point of view, which allows him to connect and identify with patients.
He is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiation Oncology, American College of Radiology and American Society of Clinical Oncology. When Dr. Waller is not working, he enjoys cooking, complex strategic board gaming, outdoor activities including hiking, camping and kayaking, and any activity spent with his wife, Andrea, and son, Roman.
